The Windman (part 4)

Well Michael was very interested in the Windman. He came right back to that very same spot the very next day, and the day after that, and the day after that, but he never saw the Windman there again. Sometimes he thought he saw him blowing through the trees. Sometimes he thought he saw him high overhead, blowing the clouds across the sky. And sometimes late at night when Michael was lying in bed listening to the dark, he thought he heard the Windman outside rattling the windows. But after a while Michael forgot all about the Windman and the adventure he'd had in the woods that day just seemed like a dream from a long time ago.

A month went by. Michael continued to play in the woods. And it happened one day, he forgot all about his supper. By the time he finally realized how late it was getting, the sun was beginning to set. Michael knew he should hurry home. His mother and father would be very worried, so he started back just as fast as he could go. He started to run and he ran and ran and he didn't even look where he was going. There was a great big tree root in the middle of the path, but Michael didn't see it and WHUMP he tripped and fell down. When he hit the ground he began to roll, he rolled and rolled right down a hill, and at the bottom of the hill there was a very deep hole and he rolled right down into it!
