Sure enough on the following day when the sun came out and the morning began, the squirrels and rabbits and birds and raccoons from miles around soon found the tree. They chattered and chirped and squeaked and squawked as they ate all the decorations up. The White Wolf howled and Winter laughed and Megan and Michael laughed too.
And ever after that whenever they could, Megan and Michael came back to the woods and hung some more food on the tree. So no matter how much it snowed that year or how shivery cold the wind would blow, the animals always had something to eat and they didn't much mind it at all.
This story is the second in a collection of six stories and twelve songs with numerous black and white pen and ink illustrations throughout. After dealing with the Dragon Who Eats The moon, Michael and Megan have many adventures with Winter. They call the Iceman, travel to the White Wolf's secret cave, stop a Glacier and have a wonderful going-away party for Winter. Many of the stories can be acted out and continued by the reader in their everyday life. Although this book is set in Toronto, it can be adapted to fit any North American urban centre.
