Now maybe you know this and maybe you don't, but a long time ago before any people came over the seas to build up the towns all around our country - way before that as a matter of fact, even before the Native Indians were here and they were here first; once upon a time a very long time ago, nobody lived where they do today, they lived somewhere else quite far away in the very same one single place. Everyone lived on a wonderful island in the middle of the sea, and this island was called the First Land.
The Four Seasons lived in the First Land too, Winter and Spring and Summer and Fall, they all lived together inside the trunk of a Magic Tree. And then one day it started to rain and it kept on raining and never stopped. The ocean rose up and covered the land and all the people had to leave and find somewhere else to live. So they cut down the trees and built themselves ships and they sailed away.
The Four Seasons built a sailing ship too, the Magic Tree had given them some wood from its trunk just the day before it had finally sunk underneath the waves. And so the Four Seasons sailed away across the sea on their Magic Tree ship. They sailed and sailed for days and days, travelling farther and farther away from the place where the First Land had been. And as they sailed they sang this song of remembering so they wouldn't forget their own true home where their hearts would always be:
