Iceman (part 3)

And sure enough, that's exactly what happened. Late one night when Megan was in bed she heard a howl far away in the dark. And in the morning when she woke up again, there were splendid ice pictures all over her window. She ate a quick breakfast and ran to the park. When she got there she was very pleased. The rink had a nice new surface of ice that was smooth and fast and true.

Michael came by and he was glad too. He shook Megan's hand and they did a high five. In a blink of an eye they both laced up their blades and went out for a skate. And after that for the whole winter season they had lots of fun. The rink stayed hard and the ice was smooth, no matter how brightly the sun shone through.

You might want to call the Iceman too, it should work for you like it did for them. Just make a small snowman the way that they did and be sure to freeze some spaghetti for the hair. Put it out just the way that they did and sing the same song. A few days later the Iceman should come, and if he does he'll freeze you some ice that is nice and fast and lasts a long time.

This story is the third in a collection of six stories and twelve songs with numerous black and white pen and ink illustrations throughout. After dealing with the Dragon Who Eats The moon, Michael and Megan have many adventures with Winter. They call the Iceman, travel to the White Wolf's secret cave, stop a Glacier and have a wonderful going-away party for Winter. Many of the stories can be acted out and continued by the reader in their everyday life. Although this book is set in Toronto, it can be adapted to fit any North American urban centre.
